⚪️ NYCN Osun State Chapter Outlines Empowerment, Advocacy, and Capacity-Building Programs to Boost Youth Development Across the State

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, has called on youths across Osun State to embrace unity, determination, and focus as the new year begins. Comr. Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, Chairman of NYCN Osun State, delivered the New Year address on behalf of the apex and umbrella body of youth organizations, highlighting plans for youth empowerment, advocacy, and leadership development in 2026.
In his address, Comr. Olakolupo applauded the resilience and dedication of Osun youths throughout past challenges, acknowledging the strength and commitment they have shown in striving for personal and collective progress. He emphasized that the new year brings fresh opportunities to engage, learn, and thrive.
The Council’s 2026 agenda includes a robust program of advocacy on youth inclusion and governance, leadership conferences, capacity-building workshops, youth summits, mentorship programs, and empowerment initiatives designed to enhance skills, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance.
“The NYCN Osun State Chapter remains committed to being the voice of the youth and representing their interests wherever decisions affecting their future are made,” Olakolupo said. “We are focused on creating platforms that empower, enlighten, and equip our youths to succeed in every sphere of life.”
Comr. Olakolupo extended heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Senator Dr. Asiwaju Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State; Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi; the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun; the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Teslim Igbalaye; and the Chief of Staff, Mr. Kazeem Akinleye.
He also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Youth and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Council’s Royal Patron and Patrons, all supporters, heads of Voluntary Youth Organizations (VYOs), and the esteemed youth for their unwavering commitment to youth development.
Acknowledging past challenges faced by youths, Comr. Olakolupo reassured that 2026 will bring greater opportunities for empowerment, engagement, and employment. He called on the state government to prioritize youth-focused initiatives and urged local governments to function effectively for the benefit of young people in their communities.
He further charged the youths to remain positive, progressive, and united, stressing that their solidarity, collaboration, and shared purpose are key to building a stronger, empowered generation.
