OSUN NYCN Applauds Governor Adeleke as Three Landmark Bills Are Signed Into Law, Urges Swift Implementation

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, has applauded Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke following the signing of three key bills into law on Monday, marking a major step in the administration’s commitment to innovation, economic development, and institutional strengthening.
The newly signed laws include the Osun Startup Law, the Electricity Market Regulatory Law,and the Estate Agency Regulatory Authority Law—all of which were earlier presented to the Governor after being passed by the Osun State House of Assembly.

According to the chairman of the council, Comr Olakolupo, the signing of these bills represents “a bold and progressive direction for Osun State,” with each law carrying significant benefits for youth development, business growth, and public welfare.

The Osun Startup Law provides a structured legal framework for young innovators, offering funding channels, regulatory support, and institutional backing to enhance the digital economy.
The Electricity Market Regulatory Law aims to build a transparent and competitive electricity market capable of supporting industries, businesses, and communities across the State.
The Estate Agency Regulatory Authority Law seeks to sanitize the real estate sector by promoting professionalism, protecting citizens, and ensuring orderly development.

NYCN Chairman, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, praised Governor Adeleke for prioritizing laws that strengthen institutions, expand opportunities, and position Osun for sustainable development. He also commended the State Assembly for its legislative foresight and dedication to the people’s welfare.

While acknowledging the significance of the new laws, the NYCN emphasized the need for swift implementation to ensure immediate impact.

“Now that the bills have been assented to, we urge all relevant ministries, agencies, and stakeholders to begin prompt execution,” the statement said. “The full benefits of these laws can only be realized when implementation is timely, efficient, and people-centered.”

The youth body reaffirmed its readiness to work with the government in driving awareness, compliance, and youth participation across sectors touched by the new laws.

With these legislative advancements, Osun State signals a clear message of openness to innovation, readiness for investment, and commitment to building a future where every citizen can thrive.
