The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, has extended warm congratulations to the newly elected President of the Council, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, as well as all elected national officers at the just concluded NYCN National Elective Unity Congress held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
In a special remark, Comrade Akinbode particularly applauded the emergence of distinguished South West representatives who secured victory at the congress, including:
- Hon. Teslim Olusi – Vice President (South West)
- Comrade Abdulquadri Abdulsalam – National Financial Secretary
- Comrade Ayyub Giwa – National Program Officer
- Comrade Onileowo Benjamin – National Public Relations Officer
He described their emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in their leadership abilities, sterling track records, and commitment to advancing the interests of Nigerian youths, particularly in the South West region.
Comrade Akinbode charged them to approach their new assignments with renewed vigor, unity of purpose, and a strong sense of responsibility, as the mandate entrusted to them is both historic and sacred. He emphasized that the South West bloc must continue to lead with integrity, inclusiveness, and innovation in order to consolidate the gains of the Council and further expand opportunities for young people.
“The youths of Nigeria have spoken, and the burden of trust now rests on your shoulders. We believe in your capacity to serve diligently, to uphold the values of the Council, and to project the voice of young people across all spheres of national development. May this new dispensation usher in greater unity, deeper collaboration, and unprecedented growth for Nigerian youths,” he said.
Comrade Akinbode also prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for all elected officers as they begin their tenure, noting that the unity and progress of Nigerian youths depend on their collective performance and commitment.
