PRESS RELEASE
Education once again took center stage in Ifelodun Local Government as the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) officially flagged off the Imole Osun “Back to School Initiative.” The program, held with colorful fanfare, featured the free distribution of exercise books, textbooks, and other educational materials to pupils across the local government area.
The initiative is part of the larger vision of the present administration under the leadership of the Governor of Osun State, who has consistently demonstrated an uncommon passion for education. By placing strong emphasis on early childhood education, the Governor has shown a clear understanding that building a solid foundation for young learners is the most effective investment in the future of the state.
In his remarks, the Board Chairman of Ifelodun LGEA, Hon. Oseni Muhammed Olatunji (Emirates), praised the Governor for his continuous support in repositioning education, stressing that the initiative will greatly ease the financial burden on parents, increase pupils’ enthusiasm for schooling, and improve learning outcomes across the state. He affirmed that the gesture is in line with the administration’s resolve to leave no child behind in accessing quality education.
The LGEA Secretary, Hon. Salimon Toyin Saka, also reiterated that the program will not only enhance access to basic learning tools but will also encourage higher school enrolment and retention rates.
The historic flag-off attracted a wide array of dignitaries and stakeholders in the education sector, including the Ifelodun Party Chairman and Board Member, Hon. Adeboye Samuel, alongside Hon. Taiwo Adeniran and Hon. Fatai Adeyemi. Also in attendance were the ANCOPSS Chairperson, the AOPSHON Chairperson, Secretary, and State Officer, as well as the NUT Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Teachers, students, parents, pupils, well-wishers, and lovers of progress also graced the occasion, making it a memorable and impactful event.
The program underscores the centrality of education in the present administration’s Imole Osun Agenda, and it stands as a testimony that the government is committed to building a future where every child, regardless of background, has equal opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
The Imole Osun “Back to School Initiative” in Ifelodun Local Government is therefore not just a flag-off, but a strong message of hope—hope for the pupils, hope for parents, and hope for the future of Osun State.
