Yesterday, history was made at the grand finale of the annual camping program of the Onward Christian Soldiers (OCS) as His Royal Majesty, *Oba Dr. Micheal Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II*, the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa Kingdom, was decorated as the Royal Grand Commander of the Order (RGCO) of Onward Christian Soldiers. The prestigious event, held at the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church Oke Agbara Olorun, Ayetoro, Osogbo, Osun state, witnessed an overwhelming display of joy and reverence as the entire congregation rose to welcome the royal father.
The atmosphere was electric as Kabiyesi Elerinmo made his grand entrance into the church. Worshippers, elders, and members of the OCS band could not hide their excitement, chanting and dancing in honour of the traditional ruler whose presence brought a spiritual aura and royal dignity to the gathering. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in strengthening the synergy between traditional leadership and spiritual institutions in Nigeria.
The decoration ceremony was conducted by Hon. Omoyele, the Osun State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, who also delivered a heartwarming tribute to Oba Elerinmo. He commended Kabiyesi for his continuous efforts in promoting peace, cultural unity, and youth development within Osun State and beyond. According to him, "It is of great magnitude and significance to see Kabiyesi robed in the spiritual regalia of the Onward Christian Soldiers. He stands as a bridge between tradition and spirituality, and we are proud of his leadership."
In his heartfelt response, Oba Elerinmo gave glory to God Almighty for granting him the grace to witness such a memorable day. With deep emotion, he pledged his unwavering support to the church and to the Onward Christian Soldiers Band, describing them as agents of spiritual awakening and social transformation. He further declared his readiness to partner with the church in advancing the cause of moral reawakening among the youth.
Kabiyesi began his speech with a passionate rendition of close to ten Cherubim and Seraphim hymns, singing with deep reverence and joy. His musical expression captivated the entire congregation, reaffirming his deep-rooted spiritual background and connection with the church. The entire hall echoed with praise and worship, setting a divine tone for the rest of the ceremony.
Oba Elerinmo was accompanied by a high-powered entourage, including palace chiefs, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Osun State Chapter, palace aides, and other dignitaries. The event closed with prayers, blessings, and a charge to continue upholding the values of faith, peace, and leadership that the Elerinmo of Erinmo has consistently exemplified.
