In continued affirmation of youth involvement in climate policy and development, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, today joined other stakeholders from the just-concluded AICIS Stakeholders Workshop to present the official communique to the Osun State Government.

Notably, the communique—which captures forward-looking resolutions on climate project financing and sustainable development—was seconded for adoption by the Chairman during the closing session in Ede.

Highlighting youth creativity and engagement, the Chairman presented a symbolic painted frame to the Governor—an artwork by the winner of the Climate Change Carnival drawing competition. This was made possible by the kind support of the State’s Climate Consultant, Prof. Chinwe Obuaku-Igwe, who continues to champion youth participation in climate solutions.

In his remarks, Comrade Akinbode lauded Governor Ademola Adeleke’s strategic focus on climate, infrastructure, youth inclusion, and workers’ welfare, describing him as a transformative leader who has redefined subnational development.

This event further reflects the growing synergy between youth-led initiatives and government-backed policy frameworks toward a sustainable and inclusive Osun.
