The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, heartily congratulates Prof. Chinwe Obuaku-Igwe on her elevation as Director-General and Special Envoy to the Governor on Climate Change and Renewable Energy by His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State.
This appointment is a clear testament to Prof. Chinwe’s exceptional dedication, trailblazing contributions, and visionary leadership in driving climate action and renewable energy innovation. Over the years, she has distinguished herself as not only a scholar and practitioner but also as a youth-friendly advocate, consistently ensuring that young people are not left behind in climate conversations and actions.
Through her inclusive leadership, Osun youths have been empowered via training in circular economy, waste-to-wealth, green enterprise development, and participation in both state and global climate platforms. Her impact has fostered jobs, innovation, and opportunities that resonate deeply with the aspirations of our constituency.
The Osun State Chapter of NYCN, as the apex umbrella body of all youth organisations in the State, acknowledges this milestone as not just a personal achievement for Prof. Chinwe but a collective gain for Osun youths and the entire State. We are inspired by her record and reassured by the Governor’s foresight in entrusting her with this crucial responsibility.
We also use this medium to reaffirm our readiness to work even more closely with Prof. Chinwe and her office in ensuring that Osun youth play active roles in climate governance, renewable energy advancement, and sustainable development, at the state, national, and international levels.
