In a bid to strengthen youth involvement in the democratic process, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, has appointed Coordinating Members for the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise across all Local Government Areas of the state.
The Council noted that the appointments are part of efforts to mobilize young people massively to register, revalidate, and update their voter’s cards ahead of future elections, thereby increasing youth participation in governance and nation-building.
Speaking on the development, the State Chairman, NYCN Osun, Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, emphasized that this move is a demonstration of the Council’s commitment to ensuring that Osun youths are not left behind in shaping the political and democratic direction of the country. He further called on all youths in the state to take advantage of the CVR exercise to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
The appointed coordinating members are to work at the grassroots level in their respective LGAs to ensure smooth coordination, mobilization, and sensitization of youths towards the registration exercise.
