OSUN NYCN CHAIRMAN CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED IJESA YOUTH FORUM EXECUTIVES, CHARGES PRESIDENT TO BUILD A LASTING LEGACY

The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the Ijesa Youth Forum, with special recognition given to the President-elect, Comrade Adeyeye Adebusuyi, and Vice President-elect, Comrade Oginni Aderonke.

In a statement released from his office in Osogbo, Comrade Akinbode described the outcome of the election as a step in the right direction for youth leadership and regional development in Ijesaland.

“Comrade Adeyeye Adebusuyi is not a stranger to responsibility. As the former Obokun Coordinator under my leadership in the Nigerian Youth Congress, he proved himself a focused, responsible, and loyal youth leader. His journey through the ranks has been marked by quiet consistency and competence. I am confident that this new position will offer him the platform to build lasting structures and redefine what the Ijesa Youth Forum stands for,” Akinbode stated.

He further described Comrade Oginni Aderonke as a woman of substance who displayed extraordinary commitment as the State Social Secretary of the NYC between 2022 and 2024.

“Her loyalty, creativity, and drive are unmatched. She is a perfect fit for the office she now occupies, and I am certain she will add great value to this administration,” he added.

The NYCN Chairman charged the new executive council to see this victory not as a reward, but as a responsibility to serve, uplift, and inspire the youth of Ijesaland. He encouraged the leadership to build structures that will outlive their tenure, engage meaningfully with stakeholders, and focus on programs that create impact and open up new opportunities for young people.

In a message of unity and encouragement, Comrade Akinbode also applauded other candidates who participated in the election but did not emerge victorious. He urged them not to be discouraged, noting that leadership is not always about position, but about purpose and contribution.

“To those who didn’t emerge, I salute your courage and your willingness to serve. The election may be over, but your relevance is not. Use this moment to regroup, collaborate, and keep contributing in every way you can. Our collective goal remains the same to build a stronger, more united, and progressive youth community,” he said.

As the apex youth body in the state, the National Youth Council of Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to supporting all youth-focused initiatives and encourages the new Ijesa Youth Forum leadership to work closely with relevant bodies for a more coordinated and impactful administration.
