Osun NYCN Chairman Distributes Educational Materials, Menstrual Kits, and Sensitizes Girl-Child on Menstrual Hygiene in Commemoration of His Birthday

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and commitment to youth development, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun Omoakin, marked his birthday with a humanitarian outreach focused on Child education and girl-child reaffirming his passion for youth empowerment, education, and menstrual health awareness.
The impactful event was held at Atakumosa High School Hall, Osu, and featured the distribution of educational materials and menstrual hygiene kits to hundreds of schoolgirls It also included a comprehensive sensitization session on menstrual hygiene management, aimed at educating and empowering young girls to embrace their menstrual cycle with confidence, dignity, and knowledge.
In a show of strong institutional support, the event had in attendance *the representative of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Amb. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke, as well as the Wife of the Executive Chairman of Atakumosa West Local Government, who both delivered inspiring and motherly admonitions to the girls. They emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, self-esteem, education, and the critical role of the girl-child in nation-building.
Chairman Omoakin, while addressing the gathering, stated, “This birthday is not just about celebration—it's about impact. Every girl deserves to feel safe, informed, and confident, especially when it comes to something as natural as menstruation. We must continue to break the stigma and ensure no girl is left behind due to a lack of access or awareness.”
The initiative, which aligns with his broader mission to promote quality education, health, and gender inclusion, was warmly received by students, teachers, parents, and community members, many of whom praised the chairman for his selfless leadership and unwavering dedication to the welfare of Osun youth.
