The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, under the leadership of Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, held its official inauguration ceremony of directorates today at ICON Polytechnic Hall, Osogbo. The event marked the formal appointment and inauguration of directorate members. It’s tasked with advancing the vision and mission of the Council across the state.
In the State Chairman’s keynote address titled “The Future is Now” Comrade Akinbode emphasized that today is not just another day on the calendar but the launchpad for a transformative era. This inauguration embodies our resolve to build a dynamic and responsive organization that serves young person in Osun State with integrity and impact. He applauded the Governor of the state, His Excellency , *Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke* for his unwavering commitment and support to the youth development. He also recognized the effort and support of the commissioner of youth affairs, Hon. Moshood Olagunju and the cabinet in the Ministry of youth affairs.
The event featured Comrade Ismail Azeez, former NYCN Osun State Chairman, as a guest speaker. He shared his insights and experiences, urging the new directors and members to uphold the values of service and unity in their respective roles.
The event also welcomed many dignitaries in attendance such as Hon. Abiola Jeremiah Awoyeye,Chairman
House Committee on Youths, Sports and Special Needs (Ife Central), Hon. Ayofe Ridwan, Senior Special Assistant to the
Governor on O'Signage, Mrs. Odediji, Director of Youth Affairs, Mrs. Ogunleye Deputy Director of Youth Affairs, Alh. Ibrahim Adeoti, ICON Polytechnic Chairman, Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Youth Affairs.
The newly appointed directorate members were carefully selected across various local governments and portfolios aimed at fostering youth empowerment, development, and inclusion in state building efforts.
