The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Segun, visited the OSSIEC office in Osogbo in preparation for the upcoming local government (LG) elections scheduled for Saturday, 22nd February 2025.
Barrister Hashim Akintunde Abioye, Esq., took the delegation around the commission to showcase election materials such as cubicles, ballot bags, and other essential supplies.
He also led the team to the commission’s conference hall, where staff members were actively working on the list of ad-hoc staff for the upcoming election.
During the visit, it was observed that the commission's environment had undergone significant infrastructural improvements under the present administration. Renovations included the modernization of several offices, such as the Conference Hall, the Chairman’s Office (Barrister Hashim Akintunde Abioye, Esq.), the commission's store, the car park, the security house, the reception, and other key facilities.
Mr. Hassan Adeyemi, Director of Operations, addressed the NYCN Osun State Chapter executives and reaffirmed the commission's readiness for the Saturday election. He assured them that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure a free and fair election, emphasizing that the team was working tirelessly to put everything in place.
During the visit, it was also confirmed that 19 political parties had registered for the election in the state. The registered parties are as follows:

The NYCN Osun State Chapter applauded the commission for its commitment and determination in ensuring that the upcoming election would be the best in the history of local government polls in the state.
The NYCN also urged all youths and residents of Osun State to come out en masse and cast their votes without fear of intimidation from any political party. They reassured the public that the commission, under the leadership of Barrister Hashim Akintunde Abioye, Esq., had promised to provide maximum security to ensure the safety of all voters.
