Unprecedented Gathering Strengthens Ties Between Youth Council and Government Leadership

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Osun State Chapter, under the leadership of Chairman Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, has expressed its profound gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs in the State, Honourable Olagunju Moshood, for his pivotal role in the successful handling over ceremony to the newly elected state executives. The council also lauded the Commissioner for hosting an unprecedented hangout ceremony for the youth body.
The hangout, held at Zest Bar and Restaurant, Dele Yes Sir Dada Estate, Osogbo, on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the relationship between the state government and the youth council. Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun stated, "Such a gathering has never before taken place between any Commissioner and the youth body in the state, where we dined and wined together, strengthening our bond as colleagues and political allies. Once again, we give you kudos, Sir."
The NYCN Osun State Chapter also extended its sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Governor Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, for his consistent prioritization of youth engagement and inclusion in his administration.
Furthermore, the council acknowledged the invaluable contributions of other key figures who worked alongside the Honourable Commissioner to ensure the event's success. Special recognition was given to Alhaji Oseni Muhammed, LGEA Chairman, Ifelodun, and Hon. Ridwan Ayofe, SSA to the Governor on Signage, for their dedicated efforts.
Gratitude was also expressed to Mrs. Taiwo Oladunjoye, the Permanent Secretary, and Mrs. Odediji, the Director of Youth Affairs, for their unwavering support to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs.
The NYCN Osun State Chapter also recognized and thanked the numerous stakeholders who graced the occasion, including: Comrade Azeez Ismail (Former Chairman, NYCN Osun State Chapter), Hon Ajala David Adetunji (SSA to the Governor on Rural and Grassroots Engagement), Hon. Henry (SA to the Governor on Fire Service), Hon. Adebisi Emmanuel (SA to the Governor on Civil Society), Hon. Mojeed Oyeniyi (SA to the Governor on Youth Affairs), and Hon. Segun Oyewale (Segzy Aluta) (SA to the Governor on Youth Mobilization).
The Chairman, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun, emphasized the transformative impact of the Honourable Commissioner's leadership, stating, "The Honourable Commissioner, you have changed the narrative and mindset of the youth in the state by uniting us under a common purpose. Your dedication to youth welfare and unity is commendable, and it is clear that the well-being of young people is your top priority. Without a doubt, you have proven to be more than just a leader—you are a brother and father to us in Osun State."
The NYCN Osun State Chapter pledged its continued support to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs in all endeavours aimed at benefiting the youth of Osun State and humbly requested his ongoing cooperation in advancing youth empowerment and development.
The council concluded with prayers for God's wisdom upon the Honourable Commissioner as he leads youth affairs towards achieving the desired Osun State.
