OSUN LG ELECTION: LET THE YOUTH BREATHE – OSUN YOUTH WARNS OSSIEC

As Osun State prepares for the local government elections scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2025, Osun youth under the umbrella body of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Osun State Chapter, ably led by Comr Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun calls on the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) to ensure a free, fair, and credible electoral process.

Local governments are the closest tier of government to the people, and their democratic administration is critical for grassroots development. We emphasize that the youth of Osun State will not accept any form of manipulation, disenfranchisement, or electoral malpractice that could undermine the will of the people.

We urge OSSIEC to maintain transparency and uphold democratic principles in the conduct of this election. The youth of Osun will be actively involved in monitoring the process to ensure that it reflects the genuine aspirations of the people.

Furthermore, we call on all political actors, security agencies, and stakeholders to play their roles responsibly in ensuring a peaceful and credible election. The youth of Osun State are ready to defend democracy, and we will not tolerate any attempt to subvert the process.

Osun deserves progress, and the time for accountable leadership at the grassroots is now!
